A great movie compels an audience to assume people, places, and circumstances are one way and then the other, leaving many things unknown and up to the viewers imagination through consecutive plot twists. This is part of the fun…attempting to figure out how it will end, who was really the bad guy, how did that person really die, who was the surprising good guy, who got swapped out when we didn’t know, who really loved who deep down, who’s the ever silent hero no one will ever know about, who’s a fictional character and what really happened behind closed doors?
The more shocking the revelations; the greater the mistaken assumptions; the more it takes us in a direction we never expected, the more riveted we are to discover the truth at the end of the movie. If you walk out for popcorn mid way and miss large segments of the movie, nothing will make sense even at the end. You’ll just feel sort of bored and disgruntled with the movie and the director and writer and actors, because things still won’t have any deep meaning.
We are truly living a movie. Many people are assuming things that will be proven so far off base they’ll be shocked. Many are deciding who and what is good and who and what is bad and what will happen in the end due to this and that. Some just walked into the movie and have no clue they’re in a theater. Some don’t care and others are determined to destroy the heroes in the first act because the plot has them appearing dangerous with too much power.
Those who sit back and watch very patiently… those who pay attention to details… those who care about the movie and the characters and what they represent and what it all means, will see through the most clever plot twists and stand with true Heroes until the end.
There are clues, foreshadowing, words, associations, outfits, music, glances, names, photos, locations, SPOTLIGHTING, interviews and important relationships that tell a story behind the story.
